The Gift of Retraining My Brain

For me, Mother’s last 2 Monday live streams complimented each other perfectly. In last week’s She offered an amazing look into how our brains function and how to retrain them so our thoughts are more supportive and peaceful. And then this Monday’s live stream focused on giving gifts to oneself.

Honestly, I can’t think of 2 things that go better together right now. As this pandemic drags on it’s been harder to keep my thoughts from triggering anxiety and worry. I’m grateful for life as it is today because it’s affording me the opportunity to face these thoughts and stop trying to avoid them by staying on a screen for just a few more minutes….

I’ve tried this technique that Mother teaches in the first video and it worked! I was amazed at how instantly it worked. What was interesting is when I began weaving the light threads through my brain using positive thoughts or affirmation-type thoughts, some wove in beautifully and others remained dark. Even if I rephrased the words they still remained dark. But I did manage to weave enough light strands into my brain to bring my anxiety down from about a 6 1/2 to a 1! And it stayed with me throughout the day. The ones that stayed dark revealed to me my focus moving forward.

My plan is to give this gift to myself often and use the technique when I’m calm and having an anxiety spike. I like the whole thing, start to finish. Let me know in the comments if you’ve tried it and how it felt for you. I’d love to hear about your experience.

Love,
Danielle
